Fire & Rescue services increasingly have specialist teams to cope with a number of activities for which structural firefighting garments are inappropriate. The company has therefore designed and produced a range of garments to cater for such activities. These products include protective clothing for high volume pumping (HVP), fire investigation, detection-identification-monitoring (D.I.M), rope rescue and road traffic collision (RTC) teams. Predominantly, these garments are designed to be waterproof, breathable products with high levels of durability but in all instances may also be provided in fire retardant (FR) forms, with or without waterproof breathable properties. All these products include; FR high visibility tape to match current Fire & Rescue Services configurations, Kevlar® reinforced knee pads, FR cuffing and Velcro® closures. Different types and configurations of pockets, ID patches, radio loops and monitor clip strips may be incorporated to match specific requirements. In the case of RTC suits these are mainly designed for supply to competition teams since this activity is a core skill for all personnel and falls within vocational NVQ’s. Such suits can however be adapted to cover other end use requirements and the company is happy to accommodate such needs in discussion with the relevant firefighters. |
