Pushing Boundaries: the FlamePro Approach

FlamePro 2018 Annual Review

2018 was a ground-breaking year for FlamePro as we began changing our approach and structure to match how we envision the future of firefighting PPE services. As always, at the heart of our business is the firefighter, the people who train hard, stay ready and risk their lives to keep others safe. There is a trend in the firefighting industry to think of these brave men and women as superheroes, images of them in “power poses” or that have been photoshopped to make them look like they’re wearing capes aren’t hard to find. We know this isn’t the case. The men and women who wear our fire kits are smart, strong and brave people. That is why we work so hard to give them the protection that an ordinary person would need in extraordinary circumstances, while allowing them to do the job they need to do to the fullest of their ability. So, how did we achieve that in 2018?

  • Over 500 firefighters in Shropshire are benefiting from our innovative fire kits.
  • 38% more firefighters are wearing our gear worldwide compared to 2017!
  • We earned a revenue growth of over 50%.
  • We’ve sold more than twice as many gloves than in 2017.
  • Over thirty thousand miles were travelled for meetings.
  • We’re now in 9 additional countries across the world!
  • We dramatically increased our presence in airports as well as in petrochem locations and the marine industry.

We’ve moved to a new base in Yorkshire where our warehouse allows us to stock core items, which is one of the reasons we have the fastest lead times in the industry. We’ve invested in people and created an agile team; our account manager, Reece, has been up and down the country meeting with key players. We have two dedicated new-product developers (working on concept garments as I type), Adrian and Jess. Our general manager, Nathan, has been working unbelievably hard pulling everything together and assisting Reece with presentations and meetings. Sina now processes all orders received, manages stock, deals with the invoices and is always here to help you with anything you need. Tamsin has been brought in from a sister company as marketing director and I (Jason) am a brand-new marketing executive, extremely eager to bring you exciting content throughout the year and keep you engaged with what we’re doing, what we have to offer you and what’s going on in the industry. Last year was great, 2019 is going to be even better! We will be attending the CFOA conference in Monaghan, Ireland, in May, and we’ll be at ESS in September. We’ll keep you updated.

Until then, stay safe and keep pushing boundaries!
