Manufacturing protective clothing involves complex processes, making production and recycling more challenging than typical clothing products. We are tackling this head-on, pioneering industry standards to create durable, long-lasting products and striving for a circular economy.
From cradle to grave, we are making improvements at every stage, enhancing sustainability throughout our supply chains.
Manufacturing for longevity
At FlamePro, we believe in the power of longevity. Our longer-lasting garments mean less waste, reduced production volumes, fewer replacements, and minimised transport mileage, ultimately conserving natural resources.
We meticulously develop our ranges for maximum durability, and we offer repair services to extend this even further. This achievement underscores our commitment to quality and sustainability, ensuring our products stand the test of time.
Sustainable Packaging
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our packaging. Our delivery cartons are 100% recyclable, and we are actively exploring FSC-certified options for any future virgin materials.
We recognize the environmental impact of single-use plastics. Recently, we switched to carbon-neutral garment bags made from 75% bio-based polymer derived from sugar cane by-products that would otherwise go to waste. Our bio-polyethylene bags have received certification to PAS2060. We are also trialing recyclable, eco-friendly paper tapes to ensure our cartons are completely plastic-free and testing FSC-certified paper garment bags to further our sustainability goals.
Inclusion
We believe that every worker deserves access to high-quality PPE that fits well and provides the best protection, regardless of gender. We offer over 96 different fits to ensure that our garments fit every body.
Historically, female workers have had limited options, often facing poorly designed and ill-fitting garments. Even though women represent a smaller portion of technicians in the industries we serve, we are committed to offering them the same level of consideration and protection as their male counterparts.
